Pop star’s wardrobe to be sold at online auction
It seems almost everybody wants a piece of Britney Spears, and at least six pieces are officially for sale. Spears’ wardrobe from her guest-starring stint on CBS’ ”How I Met Your Mother” will be sold at an online auction to benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council, an environmental organization. The weeklong auction was to begin Monday night, just after the episode featuring the pop star was due to air. A half-dozen Spears-worn items will be available, including a navy print Juicy Couture dress, a yellow Nanette Lepore dress and a cream Nanette Lepore cardigan with blue flower details.
Britney Spears makes a guest appearance with Josh Radnor on “How I met Your Mother.” Spears’ wardrobe from her stint on the show is being auctioned online.
SAXOPHONIST WITH HAGGIS HORNS: The husband of Grammy-nominated British singer Corinne Bailey Rae has been found dead. Police say Jason Rae was found in an apartment in the northern English city of Leeds on Saturday. Officers are awaiting results of toxicology tests to determine the cause of death. Jason Rae, 31, was a saxophonist with Haggis Horns, a funk band. Bailey was nominated for song of the year at the Grammy Awards in 2007 and 2008.
David Hernandez: ‘Idol’ wannabe auditons for ‘Rent’
“American Idol” wannabe David Hernandez was spotted in New York City to audition for the cast of Broadway’s “Rent,” TMZ.com reports. When pressed, all he would say is that he’s trying out for a show called “Lease” . . . clever, clever. The Arizona native apparently also asked a Hasidic Jew whether he was a “Pilgrim.”
