If you had to select one single cause that brings Hong Kong people together, what would it be? Hope of full democracy by 2012? A plunging stock market? South China Morning Post closing its Chinese publishing house? Well, you’ll be damned. The number one blog/news story emerging out of Hong Kong as of late yesterday is probably the city’s worst sex scandal to date. Since Sunday, photos of some of Hong Kong’s most prominent young artistes, including now Edison Chen, Gillian Chung (of Twins fame), Bobo Chan and Cecilia Cheung have surfaced unmercifully on internet forums. Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), one of Hong Kong’s leading record labels and some of the artistes’ agent, seek to file lawsuits against those who doctored the pictures, although whether the pictures were in fact doctored is still under dispute. Bobo Chan, one of the Hong Kong female celebrities embroiled in the recent sex scandal involving Edison Chan had her wedding called off with wealthy stock market investor Phillip Kam. It was rumored that Bobo’s future mother-in-law was extremely displeased by Bobo’s implications in the scandal and gave pressure to her son Phillip to cancel the wedding. Bobo Chan already retired from the entertainment business earlier to get ready for her marriage. Who would’ve thought that this sex scandal would dash her dreams.
Gillian Chung of Twins was rumored to have attempted suicide twice already now since the sex photo incidence. She, along with the other allegedly involved females, have not appeared in public since the scandal. EEG, the record company of Twins, have denied these rumors and stated that Gillian is just recuperating from an illness. Gillian was supposed to appear alongside her ‘twin’ Charlene Choi at a Chinese New Year Eve event but was absent. Charlene assures fans that Gillian will heal and be back.
Cecilia Cheung may be the luckiest out of these women since her marriage to pop star Nicholas Tse seem unrocked by the scandal. The couple also recently welcomed a son into their family and Cecilia’s mother-in-law, Deborah Lai, had expressed support publicly. She also denied any rumors of divorce between the couple.

The pictures that were released were stills taken from video. These were used as bargaining chips for a pay off. The rumor is in the video Edison asks Gillian who’s better in bed. Him, Jackie Chan or Albert, the owner of EEG. Not to tarnish the reputation of one of the most internationally known actors in Hong Kong with the Olympics looming, they decide to pay Kira off.
3 HK$10 million payout
It is said that more than one person was releasing the photos. They were paid 10 million HKD or 1.3 million USD to stop releasing the videos and pics.

Gillian Chung’s public appearance was used to lure Kira out of hiding which it never did.

Kira is waiting for Edison to return to Hong Kong to release more pictures and videos to embarrass him
6 Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tze separated
Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tze meanwhile are said to have agreed to a separation. The last straw for Nicholas was when it was discovered that the spate of photos leaked happened at the same time where Nicholas and Cecilia got back together. (End)
