Media reports are reporting that Edison Chen had at earlier advice and arrangement by his mother, sought help from a local psychiatrist for sex addiction during his stay in Vancouver. It is also reported that the divorce of edison’s parents during his early childhood years has more or less led to his deviated and unnatural perception of love, sex and relationships and that the psychiatric treatment he sought in Vancouver was aimed at correcting his warped perceptions.
It has been said that before the age of 9, Edison hardly saw his father and only discovered that his parents had actually divorced at the age of 14. Upon the discovery of his parents’ divorce, he felt cheated and hurt that he had such a truth hidden from him and from that point on, found it very hard to place his trust in people. Edison was also reported to have been very rebellious throughout his teenage years, starting from the age of 10. He was said to basically ignore his parents, skip classes and often went home only when it was already early morning at around 5 A.M or so.
Apart from his parents’ divorce, it was also revealed that Edison’s father’s sex orientation has also been the subject of debate for a long time now and that the media has many a time caught the elder Chen behaving intimately with other male celebrities. The doubt cast over Edison’s father’s sex orientation over the years has no doubt played a part in affecting Edison adversely as well.
To add to all these circumstances, it was also reported that Edison himself admitted to being hurt deeply by a girlfriend who admitted to cheating on him with his best friend when he was 15. There is little doubt that the double betrayal played a part in further warping Edison’s already somewhat warped views of love, sex and friendship.
In 2003, Edison reportedly fought with co-star and former friend Shawn Yue over fellow celebrity Gillian Chung. It has also be said that edison’s relationship with former good buddy and classmate nicholas tse cooled off a lot over the years thanks to his dalliances with Nicholas Tse’ estranged lover Cecilia Cheung.
Edison Chen has always been a rebel and an extreme character. He is famous for being brash and outspoken. He has wooed numerous women over the years and used to enjoy picking up random women he got to know over the internet. After he broke into the Hong Kong entertainment industry in year 2000, his old habits stuck with him and he wooed one female celebrity after another, resulting in a scandal list that was rapidly growing longer by the month. A Taiwanese media report made a list of the women Edison was said to have been involved with throughout the time he has been in the entertainment industry and the list had a grand total of 23 female celebrities which included a string of famous artistes like Cecilia Cheung, Gillian Chung, Stephy Tang, Amanda S, Maggie Q, Jolin Tsai and Elva Hsiao. He was also widely regarded as being too bold and outspoken for his own good, to the point where he even admitted to an interview held in 2006 that his favorite activity is to “make love”.

Come on, he is a young hot blooded guy, what’s wrong with having sex with a couple of girls? It’s not like he’s addicted to sex with any old ugly girl off the streets, he’s banging celebrities.
All this tormented past thing is just outrageous.
Betrayed by a girl when he was 15? What? 15, when I was 15, love wasn’t all that serious. 15 year old boys go out with girls just for the heck of it, it’s nothing serious.

wow, i would have never thought that his childhood was that hard. i feel bad for him yet i cant look at him the same way anymore. he is good looking and a good actor but now everything he worked for in the hong kong industry is going down the drains. hopefully, he is still in the american industry…i would forgive him but i dont think the case will end just yet. i feel that there is gona be something else that will happen before it is over. stay strong Edison!

i think i sort of pity him.
he didnt received the love he need from his parents,
& they give little attention on him (write on the article what edison feel).
& have to keep secrets to himself for all his life.
especially betrayer on his bestfriend when he likes the girl so much.
But come to think of it,
we can fully forgive him for these, when we thinks about those make love with him,
when they thought that he really like him & even take those pictures with him.
Meaning that they really trust him.

i don’t understand why this whole scandal is being blown out of proportion. the only good thing that ever came out of this whole is HYPOCRISY! i don’t think the “news” is worth headlines week after week after week. i do feel sympathetic to the parties involved now that their careers are down the drain. i did feel that gillian is a hypocrite for putting on the innocent image, and what’s more despicable is her past comments on intimacies (such about Nic & Ceci kiss in public) – that was unnecessary. she could’ve been easily forgiven without those comments. as for edison, his fault is not that he likes sex or however way he has sex. his fault is how he handled the situation all wrong. he should’ve confronted the whole thing at day one, not three weeks after it happened and after everything got out of hand. i can understand why he’d want to let everything die down and cool off as it is everyman’s first instinct to run/hide to make it easier, but not everyman react the same way. he had his weak moment – that’s all.
people got to be realistic. in this age and age, it’s very normal to have sex. in fact, some people may actually think it’s abnormal not to have sex. i don’t know why asian entertainment industry is so concern and so addicted to the “virgin” concept where the starlets must be PURE and INNOCENT to be good role models. that’s a bunch of bull. we all know, or at least had some clues, about what’s happened behind closed doors… so why go on and pretend like every women are chastise. if this whole boycott thing is from the older generation, fine. but for those in their 20s to be enrage about this, i think it’s unnecessary. even those that are still virgins have no right to criticize other persons private life, let alone the experienced ones.
really, the whole thing is just a misfortune. the videotapes were never meant to be released or to cause public concerns. it’s still not anybody’s business to pass judgments on the parties involved. they have not created a criminal act (unless edison turns out to have sex with minor, then he’s just stupid for not thinking logically). so really, stop condemning them as if they’ve created a real heinous crime.
that is such bullcrap.. i mean.. my dad left me when i was 2(he just left.. okay).. and i didnt know that my mum divorced my dad until i was the age of 13 when she randomly brought her “new” boyfriend over and said that they were going to get married.. i mean.. i dont blame my mum for remarrying.. and the late-ness of the fact that i new my parents were divorced didnt really do much to me.. because Marriage is only a name.. if my mum is happy then i am happy.. i am now 18.. going 19 in like 1 months time.. and i still havent seen my real dad.. to be honest.. im not really bothered.. he has never been in my life.. and i dont think i will ever need him here.. although i do miss out on some father-son relationship.. but meh.. i dont really give a crap about that either.. seeing as my mum done her best to raise me up as a single mother.. and im really happy..
i dont think my love life or whatever will get affected that much.. and everything is going okay.. im just living life like a normal kid.. so i wonder how did edisons life turn out like that? im guessing its just another one of his excuses?
Just want to clairfy that the comment she said about Nic and Ceci intimacies was a joke during a press conf and it wasn’t ment to be anything else but a fun story. She jokingly telling the repoter that during a dinner with Nic and Ceci when she look to ask them something and saw that they were kissing she felt ” embarrassed ” not digusted.
You know.. so what.. people take nude pictures with other people a lot of the time.. who cares.. Vanessa what’s her name from High school musical did it… some other people actually has porn movies out there.. who gives a crap.. people makes mistakes.. then you forget.. that’s life.
